Georgetown in Focus

Last year, well after winter was in full swing I told Truman, "You know, I think I might be one of those people who gets little depressed during the winter." His response was something like, "Um, yeah. Of course. You're a total wreck every October." I guess he just assumed I knew.

I purchased those gummy vitamin Ds from costco and sunny Tanzania definitely kept the doldrums at bay a little longer than normal but I think it has begun to set in. The 6 degree weather Colorado has been having isn't really helping. I guess I should be thankful my office is no longer in a basement.

As a way to have some fun (and combat the blues) we've been trying to get out of the house on the weekends. It's sort of turned into a tour of local mountain towns. Last week we walked around Golden, CO and this past weekend we visited Georgetown for the annual holiday festivities. I like crowds and Truman doesn't (but he does love mountains) so mountain town holiday festivals are a pretty happy medium.

It was f'ing cold but thankfully these little mountain town are only about 4 blocks long. We actually had a really fun time ducking into used book shops to escape the cold. I'm still a little down but at least now I have a fifty cent copy of Gloria Steinem's Revolution from Within to keep me company.
